Bakersfield, CA - Woman Injured in Stockdale Hwy Pedestrian Crash

Bakersfield, CA (February 23, 2024) – A pedestrian accident reported in the Bakersfield area sent a woman to an area hospital with injuries. The Bakersfield Police Department was notified of the accident at approximately three p.m. on February 20.

Reports provided by BPD indicate that a 45-year-old woman was standing outside of a stopped vehicle on Stockdale Highway during the afternoon hours. For unknown reasons, an eastbound Cadillac struck her and her vehicle. The vehicle then proceeded forward before coming to a stop in the 3700 block of the roadway. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the injured woman in the area near Garnsey Avenue. She was provided care at the scene and transported to an area hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition. The Cadillac driver was taken into police custody on suspicion of DUI. Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
