San Diego, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on I-5 near I-8
San Diego, CA (February 24, 2024) – On February 23, troopers with the California Highway Patrol were called to the scene of a pedestrian accident that took place during the evening hours.
At around 1145 p.m., authorities were called to the scene of an accident on Interstate 5. Preliminary reports indicate that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the northbound side of Interstate 5. Authorities arrived at the scene and located a victim face down on the roadway with severe injuries. Highway Patrol troopers closed off the road near Interstate 8 while assisting. The victim, who has not been identified publicly, was pronounced deceased by authorities. No other injuries were reported in the accident. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
