Rancho Cucamonga, CA (March 9, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident involving a semi-truck took place early Saturday morning, claiming at least one person’s life. Authorities were called to the scene of the accident at approximately 2:53 a.m. on March 9.

According to authorities, a black vehicle and a second vehicle collided on Interstate 15 in the area near Jurupa Avenue. The impact of the crash caused the black sedan to overturn and come to rest on its roof. Another accident involving a semi-truck tractor-trailer occurred at the same time, resulting in one of the vehicles coming to rest on the right side of the roadway before catching on fire.

The California Highway Patrol troopers and firefighters rushed to the scene of the accident and immediately shut down the roadway. One person was trapped inside the burning vehicle and had to be extricated. The victim sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
