Chula Vista, CA (February 14, 2024) – A pedestrian lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Chula Vista area. Authorities were called to the scene of the accident just before 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, February 14.

According to official reports, a man who is believed to be in his 30s was struck by a pickup truck on L Street near Broadway during the early morning hours. The driver remained at the scene and spoke with law enforcement immediately following the crash. Authorities responded and shut down the roadway between Broadway and Jefferson as they assisted. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was immediately pronounced deceased by the Chula Vista Police Department. The accident is currently under investigation.
