Bakersfield, CA – Four Hurt in Old River Rd Crash near White Ln
Bakersfield, CA (April 24, 2024) – a major motor vehicle accident reported in the Bakersfield area left several people injured. The incident took place at around 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22.
According to official reports, to a newer model Chevrolet Camaro’s, one black and one white, were traveling through the area of Old River Road and White Lane at a high rate of speed. Authorities believe that the two vehicles were street racing. For reasons unknown, the weight Camaro crashed into multiple vehicles that were stopped at the intersection. The black Camaro drove over a race center median and fled eastbound from the crash.
Three adults and one minor sustained injuries as a result of the accident. None of the victims were in either of the vehicles racing. The four victims were treated for injuries. Authorities also confirmed that the driver of the white Camaro, 19-year-old Meylin Rosi Barrera, was transported to an area hospital for medical care. Barrera was subsequently arrested for multiple charges related to this accident. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
