Bakersfield, CA – Injury Accident Reported on Hwy 99 near Lerdo Hwy

Bakersfield, CA (May 11, 2024) – One person was seriously injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Shafter area on Friday afternoon. The incident was reported to authorities at around 2:30 p.m. on May 10.

According to law enforcement reports, a red sedan was traveling on Highway 99 when it crashed into a center divider and overturned near Lerdo Highway. As a result, a multi-vehicle collision involving at least four additional vehicles occurred on the roadway. One person was severely hurt in the accident. EMS rendered aid to the victim before transporting them to a local hospital. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
