Santa Maria, CA – Woman Killed in Hwy 101 Crash

Santa Maria, CA (September 10, 2024) – Local news sources confirmed that a 53-year-old woman died as a result of a fatal accident that occurred early Sunday morning, September 8, in Santa Barbara County. The accident was reported to officials immediately after it took place.

Reports show that a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling on Highway 101 when he became involved in an accident. Authorities arrived on site to discover the Chevrolet and a 2020 Mazda, which had severe damage and were blocking the road. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway. A passenger in the Chevrolet, identified as 53-year-old Alma Teresa Alcorta Del Lazaro of Santa Maria, was fatally injured in the crash. A 63-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were both injured and transported to area hospitals for emergency care. California Highway Patrol troopers are investigating.
