Long Beach, CA (September 2, 2024) – A multi-vehicle accident reported in the Long Beach area claimed the lives of two victims. The collision took place at around 6:35 a.m. on September 1.

According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, multiple vehicles collided on the southbound side of the Interstate 605 Freeway. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and located a semi-truck tractor-trailer, a silver pickup truck, and a white pickup truck blocking the roadway near the eastbound entrance to the 91 Freeway. Firefighters and police immediately shut down the roadway. Two people involved in the accident sustained fatal injuries. Both victims were pronounced deceased. An unknown number of people were transported to local hospitals for emergency care. At this time, the incident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
