Borrego Springs, CA – One Killed in SR-78 Crash near Borrego Springs Rd
Borrego Springs, CA (March 23, 2024) – One person lost their life as a result of a major motor vehicle accident reported in Borrego Springs on Friday evening, March 22. Authorities were called to the scene of the incident at around 8:45 p.m.
According to official reports, a multi-vehicle accident involving one sedan and three motorcycles occurred on California State Route 78 just east of Borrego Springs Road. One person involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Multiple other victims were rendered aid while at the scene.
One person was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in Palm Springs for emergency medical treatment. One additional victim was transported by ambulance to Medical Center in Escondido for emergency care. Four additional victims declined transportation. At this time, the California Highway Patrol is investigating.
