Bakersfield, CA – Two Killed in Head-On Collision on Hwy 43
Bakersfield, CA (May 16, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported in the Bakersfield area claimed the lives of two people. The collision occurred at around 3:30 a.m. on May 12.
According to police reports, a head-on collision blocked several lanes on the northbound side of Highway 43. Authorities arrived at the scene and shut down the roadway near Pond Road. The involved vehicles, identified as a Honda and a Dodge, were both towed from the scene. Two people involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries. The victims were both pronounced deceased at the scene. A total of three people were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment following the crash. At this time, investigations into the accident are ongoing.
